Spicy Parmesan Shrimp Pasta

So, tonight I am making Spicy Parmesan Shrimp Pasta...

With Chicken. LOL!

I made this last week, but used shrimp. My family loved it. I have chicken thawed so I am substituting tonight.

Spicy Parmesan Shrimp Pasta

It is SO good. Can't say enough about it.

Okay, on to some other news.

My husband got a {big} promotion.

WOOT!!!

He got selected for E7, which is Sergeant First Class in the Army. He is very deserving of it, and I am thrilled for him.

Right now Ava is sick, we are heading to the Dr in a few, and I hope she gets some relief. 2 weeks now with this cold/ick, and she is still having trouble breathing. My sweet girl.

Today marks the 7th anniversary of the Virginia Tech Shooting. This tragedy took 32 students and faculty from us, and will forever be remembered. Take a minute to think about those you love, and about how quickly things can change. Today we are all Hokies. #hokienation

I'm here...really

Okay. I was sick (again).

Gallbladder is the culprit, we think...

Had testing, ultrasounds...and waiting til Friday for the big bad results.

:(

I hate my gallbladder.

Ava was sick.

Caitlyn is sunburned.

My husband is stressed to the max with work.

So yeah.

I did get to dissect a sheep brain so I could study the anatomy of it....so...that was fly.

More later, promise.

World Autism Awareness Day

So, April is Autism Awareness Month.

I am just trying to get the facts out.

Learn about Autism.

Tell someone else about it.

Acceptance is key. Be aware...but accept that there are some very unique individuals that need acceptance in the worst way. Autism changes everything. It doesn't just affect the child. It affects the child's family, friends, teachers, and everyone they come in contact with.

It is hard, and some days I absolutely hate it.

I adore my sweet girl. She makes me a better human, a better mom, friend, wife...she is my soul.

She may do things different.

That's okay.

She will get there eventually.

Friday Favorites!

I am trying to do a bit more blogging, so yay for that!

I started Friday Favorites over a year ago.

I love doing them.

I have either tried the product, seen it in person, or bought it.

So, with all that aside, these are just MY opinions. If you decide to buy it, and hate it, sorry about your luck. LOL! Again, go try stuff. Especially makeup. Go to Sephora, Macy's, or Dillards...put it on, get samples, make sure you can apply it. It works. Really, it does.

1. Honey
Honey by Marc Jacobs. So yummy, fruity, orange blossoms, and warmth. $72 at Sephora

2. Cheeky
Josie Maran Argan Lip & Cheek Color Stick Set. So pretty, and so versatile. $34 at Sephora

3. Strappy
I love this sandal. Sam & Libby, $27 at Target

4. Shiny
A little "love" friendship bracelet to wear is nice! $9.99 at World Market

5. Rosy
Rose gold is in. It has always been a fave for me, but since it is a "thing" now, I can buy it a lot.
This rose gold knotted friendship bracelet is sweet, at $7.99 at World Market.

6. Paisley
Spring Bliss Paisley Handmade Boxed Notecards. Such a sweet way to send a note to someone. By hand. Not electronically. $7.99 for 8 cards, making them about a dollar a card. Nice! World Market

Well, That is all I have for ya today. I hope you like them, and I hope you all have a beautiful weekend.

Happy Birthday...Ava

4 years and 364 days ago...this was me.

I was 37 weeks 4 days pregnant. With my asthma acting up, I had to be induced.

I was scared...anxious...excited...happy...

Ava was a surprise. She was a sweet little gift. Caitlyn was 11, and I was back to sleeping in on the weekends, and the girl was pretty darn self sufficient.

At 30, going back to bottles...late nights...baby toys...strollers...it was tough. Absolutely worth it, but tough nonetheless.

Little did I know that she would change everything we knew about life. At 12 months Autism was brought into our lives...and she taught us a whole new meaning of love.

Happy Birthday, my sweet baby girl.

I am so proud of all that you have accomplished, all you have done, the progress you have made...I am so proud to be your Mama.

She was only around 20 minutes old here...

(I know, no cupcake picture. She has food issues, so she didn't want one)

Fast forward to now. Today. March 26, 2014.
This girl decided to be brave and try a cupcake. (I made them, so good)

5. She is 5!

All the years...

Her big sister...(who is 16) and loves her baby sister so much...

They have this incredible bond. She is like a little mama to her.
I love it.

She had a great birthday. We went to eat at the Roadhouse...which she requested but she never eats anything except what I pack. LOL! Sweet girl. I am so proud to be her Mama.
